I have been working on the tactics for the denizens of Firestorm Peak and am interested in receiving some feedback. You'll notice that I have experimented with two different kinds of tactical instructions: First, I give a brief summary of what the creature will do for each of their actions on their turn (Move, Standard, Minor). Second, I outline some more specific logical steps that the creatures should take (this is similar to how I did tactics in Castle Ravenloft, and similar to the tactics in the original board game).

Anyway, I welcome any thoughts on this. The Denizens document is posted on the Wrath of Ashardalon page. Please send me an email to castleravenloftreversion@gmail.com with your comments and thoughts.

Thanks!

Due to a request, I've added pre-generated characters to the Castle Ravenloft Reversion page. These characters are of the same class & race as the original board game so you can use the minis that came with the game.

And, for those of you who have expressed interest, I definitely am working on the Wrath of Ashardalon Reversion. I'm adding some new and fun roleplaying elements to the basic dungeon-crawling fun that I made with the Castle Ravenloft Reversion. I can't wait to see what people think of it!

Thanks to everyone who has expressed their support! As always, let me know what you think by sending me an email:

On a different note, here's a new roguelike game I just discovered:

Here are some of the card art submissions I have received. Thanks Javier! If anyone else has any that they'd like to share, please send them to me as a JPG or PDF and I'll post them here for others to use.

I would love to add some better artwork to my Castle Ravenloft reversion. In particular, if anyone is capable of creating card backs for the various cards in the game I would be glad to incorporate them into the documents. I am also interested in adding a better Village Map to the game. Of course, I would give credit to whoever helps with this.

Thanks!

I have always wanted to play a board game version of Dungeons & Dragons that incorporates all of the fun aspects of role-playing, character-building, dungeon-delving, treasure-finding, puzzle-solving and monster-slaying in a game that can be played simply without a Dungeon Master. When Wizards of the Coast produced their series of D&D boardgames beginning with Castle Ravenloft, I was very excited. Imagine my disappointment when I found that their game was oversimplified to the point that it was nothing like D&D any longer!

So, during the summer of 2011, I made the Castle Ravenloft Reversion. This is my attempt to 'revert' the game back into something more like D&D. After much revision and play-testing, I have finally decided that my Castle Ravenloft Reversion is as good as it is going to get. Now I intend on doing a similar reversion for Wrath of Ashardalon and eventually Legend of Drizzt.

I am thrilled that there was a lot of interest in what I was doing. So I made this web-page to host my projects. Thank you to all who have helped and expressed interest in what I was doing. It's for you that I am making this web-page. Special thanks to the folks (both users and moderators) at Boardgamegeek. They have hosted my files and the community there has been very supportive.

Please feel free to send me comments or suggestions!
